4th Berlin-Brandenburg Technology Forum "In vitro-Diagnostics und Bioanalysis"

On June 7th and 8th, 2012 experts in the field of in vitro-diagnostics and bioanalysis gathered for the 4th time at the Berlin-Brandenburg Technology Forum at the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. For the first time foreign companies were invited to meet potential partners from the Capital Region in person. Approximately 170 participants from 11 countries came to participate in the scientific and industrial programme at the Charité. 46% of them had industrial background and 13% arrived from outside Germany.

Facing the economical and medical challenges, new biomarkers and innovative diagnostics become more and more significant for the health care systems of the future. As basis for individualized therapy decisions, predictive testing is one of the key drivers for the next generation of in vitro-diagnostics.

Berlin-Brandenburg covers the full range of the in vitro-diagnostics value chain, from biomarker identification to clinical validation, from manufacturers to service providers. A significant number of internationally renowned research institutes, the Charité, being the largest university clinic in Europe, and more than 80 diagnostics companies contribute to being one of Germany´s hot spots for diagnostics development.

Since 2009, the Berlin-Brandenburg Technology Forum „In vitro-Diagnostics and Bioanalysis“ has been proving to be an excellent platform for initiating a sustainable dialogue between fundamental research, industrial development and clinical application.

The 4th Technology Forum focuses on the impact of new technology platforms and next generation sequencing on the development of diagnostics, as well as on the biomarker development strategies, and the perspectives for personalized medicine.

A specially designed partnering event for diagnostics companies and research institutes facilitates to meet new cooperation partners from Europe and aims at fostering and encouraging possible growth opportunities.

Participants will have the opportunity to join a guided science tour in Berlin on June 7th (please indicate your interest in the registration form).

The Technology Forum 2012 will be once again the place to be for discussing new trends and topics in the field of in vitro-diagnostics.
